My mother remembered, \u2018She was always fun. I loved her. For me she was very important because she was always very good and nice to me and treated me as a proper person, not like a child all the time. She had a great sense of humour. But she never got married and it was considered that she would look after her mother, as the unmarried daughter. That\u2019s why she stayed behind.\u2019 In August 1939, my mother who was then 19 and in England telephoned her for the last time. \u2018I always remember my aunt saying to me \u2013 at that time it was already very dicey in Prague and people were leaving &#8211; and she said \u2018I would be quite happy to come to England as a maid\u2018, and there was I, I couldn\u2019t do anything, and forever I can\u2019t forgive myself for it and I said, \u2018but I don\u2019t know of anywhere,\u2019 and I knew that she was trying to get out.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Dora was transported to Terezin on August 3<sup>rd<\/sup> 1942 and then to Riga on August 20<sup>th<\/sup>, 1942 where she was murdered.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Address:\u00a0HYBERNSK\u00c1 1674\/42, PRAHA 1 Born 29. 04. 1875 Born name: Bial Last residence before deportation: Riebnig Transport IX\/2, no. 237\u00a0(31. 08. 1942, Breslau -&gt; Terez\u00edn) Murdered\u00a024. 03. 1944\u00a0Terez\u00edn Holocaust database Karolina Auguste Dorothea Fischel, always known as Dora, was born in Prague, the youngest of three sisters.
